i bought a new calico ryukin because it was cheap from an lfs i typically do not use. it brought ich and a pestering torment to my otherwise peaceful 45 gallon goldfish tank. he is no longer with us. instead of heating to 85 ish i only went to 80 ( since the goldfish like cooler water ). instead of 3-5 teaspoons of salt per gallon i went with 1 1/2. instead of the small bubble curtain wall i added two stones to make up for the lower O2 content in the water ( again learned from MFK ). 6 days now and all signs of ich are gone from my goldfish ( 3 or 4 more to go again learned from MFK ).
