A touch of the back ground story.

6 months ago we started a house extension, this was done in 3 months and the plan was to get a new tank with a silver in it. At this time I spotted a few tiny arrows in at an LFS, I had a spare thank lying around so got one to grow on. All was fine until the walls came down and we had to move the tank. After setting up a temp pond with the tank water and moving the fish to that and then back to the tank all was well, apart from the tank is right by the front door in the highest traffic area in the house. Whilst the rest of the building work was going on the tank was covered to save stress to the fish.

Extension done and I ordered the tank, the problem is a 3 month back log on building them. I feel a bad fish keeper at the moment because the tank is getting cramped but I can't move the fish again to another tank is it would get beat up by the others.

So it's a sit and wait situation, I have a miserable(BTW tank parameters are fine and it eats no problem at all) arrow that has enough room to move but only just. Every day when I come home I 'tell' the fish the days remaining before the tank arrives.

3 weeks to go and I woken up by the wife at 0030( I work shifts) shouting and screaming. the arrow has jumped and it walking across the floor on it fins. I did not witness this but am guessing it was kind of like an eel.

So the fish is back in the tank and all is well, tank it covered again and has something heavy on the lid.

If I'd know all this I'd have ordered the tank back in July to save all the misery.

Thanks for reading
