okay my aro has been acting a bit different for the past 3 weeks. i usually feed him twice a day ( pallets) and every so often i feed him feeders. i qurentine the feeders for at least 3 weeks. but now he wont accept anything. not even feeders which are his favorite. i know hes hungry cuz he will snap at my hand when i open the lid. but when food hits the water he will ignore it. his tankmates go crazy when i feed them. im a bit concern about his loss of appetite, cuz i have had him for at least 6 months and never had this problem. what can it be??? :help2:

Water parameters all good? Anything change like new tank mates, different lighting? Have you tried market shrimp or superworms?

parameter are good. no new tankmates, light has been the same ever since. he ignores the shrimp but when i feed nightcrawlers he bites them in half and spits them back out

As long as everything else is checks out okay i think your arow is fasting... arows for some reason just stop eating at times...in the wild arows do not eat everyday, i don't know if they do this because we feed them too much or just because they are moody that way.... as long as your arow is larger then 8---9 inches it would not concern me that he has decided to fast.. smaller then this i would worry, natually the smaller and younger they are the more fragile...my arow once fasted for 5 weeks... i would keep trying every day..if he shows no interest take the uneaten food out and try again on consistant basis..he will come around eventually but do not panic if it takes awhile. He just does seem hungary to me...

i think you overfed him and he's starving himself.i got the same problem with my aro so i starved him for a week to two without feeding him anything at all.Since yours is probably still small u can stop feeding him for 3-4 days after that he will gladly take your food.or you can change his food regime, try giving him those superworms or centipedes or cockroaches to boost his appetite.or maybe u could increase the temp and add aquarium salt for him to increase his appetite.
