A little cloudy water? help?

My Tank is still kind of cloudy and i tested the water my nitrite was 0 and ammonia was .25. ive been running my filters for overa month already. the fish are fine just water cloudy. whats the problem??

Howdy,

How much biological filtration do you have? Detectable ammonia indicates that your biofilter is either overwhelmed or not established, yet. That is most likely the reason for cloudy water - if you can rule out stirred up sand etc.. Did you use bottled bacteria for start-up ?

Agreed, I think you need either more biomedia or what you have has an inadequate colony.

or you could be using direct untreated tap water, doing water changes that are too big or have an over crowded tank.
