first question: is there ever a time where clear poop / stringy off white poop is NOT a parasite?

How can I make sure it is a parasite before treating?

A little background.. Had this fish for almost 5 months, he is strong, eats very good, very active, great color and putting on good size. Tank is 75g and he has a small school of petricola as tank mates. Temp is 77, water changes weekly over 60% and nitrates peak at 10, never more. Normally he is fed twice a day in the morning and night.

When i am feeding him normally (never skipping a feeding) his poops are always great. I notice weird poop if I go a day or two without feeding. I read this is good to do once in a while (i do this every 3-4 weeks or every other month. just randomly.

The poop looks clearing but its hard to describe. I can try and get a picture if i stop feeding and it happens again. If this was a parasite, wouldn't the poop always be off? and not only when i skip feedings?

Any chance this is normal?

I obviously don't want to medicate if I don't need too but I also would rather take care of any issues while he is eating amazingly and looks healthy.

I don't have any experience with parasites and fish so I am lost. I heard prazipro is pretty harmless and can be used as a preventative, any thoughts on this?

I just ordered prazipro after reading a bunch of stuff online about how many people use it as a preventative treatment. Sounds pretty safe and will hopefully ease my mind.

Better safe than sorry I think.

Prazi is pretty safe to use as preventative and acute treatment.

prazipro is a good treatment gets most internal parasites except for roundworms (which are failry common) keep us posted on how he responds

Put the first dose in the tank on Friday. Second dose either tonight or tomorrow.

I am going to run for 3 weeks. The bottle says usually good after o e treatment. I been watching Kai closely and he is just as active and colored up as always. Doesn't seem to have any noticeable effect on him.

Keep in mind he is a healthy fish and I. Only doing this to ensure I don't run into any issues down the road. Prevention.

I want to keep him for his entire life and hope that this process is one step in the right direction. I have never done any preventative treatment in the past with other fish but have always change my fish pretty regularly as well.

This is the first time keeping a wetpet and I have no desire to trade or sell him ever. I have seen a few post recently that cause me to be cautious with Kai, and after reading a fair bit on prazipro I felt confident using it.

I have no doubt that I will go through the full treatment without issue.
