I've been keeping fish on and off for about 20 years. Until now my largest tank was a 55 gal. I recently purchased a 120 gal that is the home to 2 Oscars (both about 8-9" and a few rams horn snails and MTS. I was under the impression that my tank was fully stocked because of the large bio load of the Os. But I constantly read posts where people have many more fish than that in a 120. My water param. are perfect at 0/0/10. Can I add another fish like a Dat, or would that be pushing it.

I would say yes. It all depends on your filtration and water changes. As long as your filtration will keep nitrites and ammonia down that's fine. Next is just how many water changes you are willing to do to keep nitrates down. MFK has brought water changing to a whole new level with the way water changes are done with the super overstocked tanks. I am getting ready to do a drip system on multiple tanks. Thank goodness. It can be a lot of work when you starting getting multiple overstocked tanks.

I would guess the oscars will show any new fish who's boss, but that's typical cichlid behavior.

Since many oscars display different aggression levels, you'll just have to try it and find out.

what kind of filtration do u have? w/d, hang on, or canister? i have many more large fish in my 125, but i'm startin to push it quite a bit.

I have 2 biowheel 350's and a magnum 350 ( I use biomax instead of carbon). I do 50% w/c a week without fail. So far readings have been 0//0/10. I am willing to add anoter canister if needed.
