Thank you. Cut the top off and cut the useable pieces up for scrap, but haven't used them in the construction. Another project maybe. I had several 14×36 sheets sitting in the attic for years. Used all of them to make this.
I had an idea in my head and just went for it. Wanted extra water polishing so 1st sock is 200 micron, 2nd sock is 100micron and top 3" drip tray will have poly fill. 6" tray will have media. Going to try some growstone and see if it works as well as I think
Well, ran the whole system tinight as its first water test. Water ran almost exactly like I planned. The drip trays worked perfect. Had a couple good leaks in the side walls of the sock chambers. Thought they were good seals. Proof is in the pudding. Drying it out and will reinforce the seams. Knew it wouldnt be easy. Glad I went for it. Great experience
The top drip tray is 3" and may have layer of sponge, then the media tray is 6". Water line is a little less than halfway up the 6" tray. So 2.5" submerged (will be lava rock) and non submerged 3.5" will be grow stone
