A little help please.

Hi.
I have decided to start a small Polypterus collection a while back and today I picked up an "unknown" Polypterus.

The LFS here had the tank labelled as P.O. - "???".
Usually here in Japan, they make up some crazy name, but not this time!

The Assistant sold it to me for 500yen ($5?) as he couldn't identify it.
He said he thinks it could be a "Bichir Bichir" or a "Ansorgii".
I have tried looking through I.D threads, but am still not too sure.

So could anyone please I.D for me?

Here are some pics. It is roughly 7" long.
(it has been in the tank for about 30mins, so colors may not be correct.)

If it is an endli, you better have a REALLY big tank. They can grow to almost 40".

not an endli and endlis cant grow 40" biggest iv seen is only 24"-26"

@jschall, I keep monster fish (mainly the larger Snakeheads) so yup, I am always ready when it comes to tank size!

I have been comparing pics all day now and am pretty confused. The "congicus" seem to have different markings on the body (I may be well wrong here though)
Have seen a picture of P.O Endlicheri Endlicheri that seemed to have more similar markings.

What do you rekon it is bud?

100% sure its a congicus(thin stripes), and not endlicheri b.c endli has thicker and all weird stripes,your congicus is real good quality one,the US usually gets in the regular quality so not so many stripes

Hao, I would take it from you as final then.
Cheers for the I.D, was a little gutted it wasn't an Ansorgii for a bit, but I just realised they max out at around 30cm, which is a little small for my liking so thats cheered me up a little!

Anyway, his colors and markings have come up more this morning, and some horizontal lines have come up on his head. looks awesome! so here is a few updated pics:
