So far my new Lapradei is acting pretty normal, and has a decent amount of activity. He's with a Juvi Jag and few small Honduran Red Points, 3 Yoyo Loaches and Irwini.

I am having trouble getting it to eat, or at least that I can visibly see. I tried to lower some Krill down to him with some long tongs, he snatched it like a snake would strike something, then just spit it out. I leave some busted up massivore pellets on the bottom at night time. I'm sure the Irwini and Jag snacks on those as well but I never see left over food. I've had my Lap about 1 week now. Anything I can try or keep an eye out for?

Thanks guys.

just let him settle in when polypterus change environments they can go for a more than a couple weeks with out eating. Think about it like this is you are putting food in the tank he'll eat when he's hungary.

He will snack those loaches down before you know it!

yup give it more time to settle down, time will pass and all you know he will turn out to be a piggy lap.. Cheers

I have 2 just like that. At first I hated them, and they never ate from what I saw. A couple months has gone by and they are turning into monsters. I rarely see them eat, but they do ;) .

Hell Yeah! Tried Pro Salts Lancer Fish and that Lap slammed down like 4. Food of choice has been noted.
