All the other important things BESIDES what I ask about this species, I already know.
Just have a few questions and really can't find the EXACT advice I need. And really do not have the time to dredge through the search function or other parts of the net when someone can answer specifically.

I have a 1.5" GSP in a 40 breeder. Now, they were sold in FW, so as of tonight, it is in the best conditions I could exact from where they were bought. All I found for advice was that "all marine salts vary in directions from brand to brand"...um, cool great, yet the original question I saw asked was never answered. How to raise the SG by the weekly required .02 . Just in case the brand I get ISN'T as detailed in the instructions as I'd like, I am here to pick the fine minds at MFK.
So, will these mix's tell me how much the volume I'm making will raise a certain volume by "x" SG?If not, this is what I need to know.
Like, I mix up a 5 gal bucket of by-the-directions marine mix.In my 40b with about 5g removed to accommodate for the 5g going in, how much is that going to raise that water?Or do I need testing equipment no matter what?

Thank you.

I've never ventured into the salt or brackish water tanks... but i'm going to guess that having a refractometer or hydrometer is going to be pretty helpful in getting the SG just right...

I know if your topping water off / changing tank water you pre-mix the water going in to be the same SG as the tank, but if your going from fresh and acclimating a tank up by 0.02 a week i'm really not sure? so will leave it to the other more experienced members to answer...

Yeah, I got it, got the gear I need.Sorry for the clutter, can delete the thread if need be.Can OP's still request that?I see all these adds now and don't know how many people are at the wheel anymore...

Try PMing one of the mods and they should help take care of it for you...
