Just some pics of my 7" Amphilophus lyonsi. Uncertain on the sex but I think female.
Sorry for the crappy pics but she/he wouldn't stay still.

Awesome red coloration on the tail and fins! Nice cichlid. I heard they are laid back compared to most Amphilophus, do you find that to be the case?

The ones I have kept have been very laid back especially compared to most other amphilophus. However can be very aggressive towards their own species.

Nice! Looks like a possible male to me. I think females have an iridescent blue on the face.

Thanks, hope your right about it being a male. I need to vent this guy/gal next time I do a water change. Thank you all for the kind words.

You sex them like you sex festae and trimacs. If there is a black spot in the dorsal fin, it's female. No spot equals male.
