so my cockatiel birdy isnt in his best shape, i have no idea of the status of his health, and these articles im finding on the net arent helping, so imma take him to the doctor soon and get a full acessment on his health. and pay for any necessary treatment he may need. Im ready to blow all of my nearly 1000 bucks on this bird.

he seems underweight, fragile, and his feathers are dry, and he doesnt like baths or water.

and i cant get him to eat ANYTHING but seed, its pathetic i swear

im in distress right now:cry:

i think his bones are very fragile, one of his toes had broke and healed weird, and i feed him cuttle bone

Sorry to hear:( , best of luck with that and you are doing the right thing taking it to a properly trained avian/exotic vet:thumbsup:

Best of luck, hope every thing goes alright.

I hope all goes well for your bird. Birds are challenging at time because like reptiles they dont show problems until there is one, kinda like one day great one day not great very little in between.

However they are considerably smarter and as i've learned from mine they pick up habits sometimes dietary other times screaming like a bastard for no good reason (the last one really ticks me off sometimes). He is social but dang i'm two feet from him he doesnt need to shout at me.

I hope the vet can help, its very nice to see someone willing to do that for a bird...i've seen way too many people say..."its only fifty bucks i'll get another one"....wrong answer..

Be strong and find a good exotics vet (damn hard to find for me in michigan).

there is one right next to my lfs.

how convenient :grinyes:

Good luck with your bird. I had my old cockatiel for 10 years before my dad made me get rid of her because we moved and she was the most fun thing ever. I can understand why you would spend all that money to have him saved. Good luck and hope it goes ok.
