For years I've wondered what animal the Pokemon Gyarados is based from and I've figured it out it's based off of an Arowana that's why its flying and it has barbels and a MEAN Temper (also has a Red version), it was my Eureaka moment of the year

Not all Pokemon are based on animals just some (and forget most of the new ones) It may be based off a water dragon BUT it evolves from a carp a highly prized oriental animal the Gold version evolves into a red form....And it has a trapdoor shaped mouth(reason I came to this conclusion)

PS: Mr.Mime is a clown its mentioned in the first episode it airs in....
