It's been a few years since my first BGH died. I tried selling out, but no one wanted the big tank.

I happened to pass a boxstore & there, in a separate tank from the main wall of potentially sick tanks, were two baby BGKs! I picked the more active one & started home! :hearts:

Unfortunately, horrid last second Warrenton parade planning caused absurd traffic. We were stuck in the turn lane for over two hours!!

Took another hour to get home. Once home, I'm doing a 50% w/c on my 125gal & set up the little blooper to be drip acclimating to my well water. Once the tank is full, I'll swap the tube to that instead. Once the bucket it full, I'll scoop the little blooper out & into its new home!

Never done drip acclimation before, but hoping for the best.

Any last second tips for the little guy?
I've had tanks & pond for a decade plus, but BGKs are my favorites & I don't want to accidentally kill it!

congrats!

Since you have experience with them, I'm curious how big of a tank will they need long term and what is the growth rate like?

I didn't keep track of my last one's growth, but she did slow at around 9in.
She lived in a 75 for a few years, then I bought her the 125gal.
