I'm like so dead. Because of my impulsive buy, I may need to get a new home for the albino clown who's currently sharing a 4-ft tank with the BGK.

Has anyone had the experience of mixing the 2 together in a tank only to have one of them beaten/eaten? wanna share your stories here?

i have an albino ck, ck, and bgk all in a 180. are you sure its an albino ck and not an albino featherback (get alot smaller) post up some pics please

Every story I've heard of mixing a SA Knife and an Asian Knife are usually the SA Knives are more territorial so they can be more aggressive.

I have tried the mix, provide lots of cover caves would help in the end BGk is dead meet. had two get munched so i got a BGk that was very large and provided cave the bgk only came out for food my clown would try to ambush .so i ended up moving bgk to a new tank.

Are you referring to N. chitala or N. notopterus? I ask because of the exceptionally large size of the former when compared to a BGK.

I had a feeling that the above may happen.

Now, I have a 4-ft tank. It's temporarily divided into 2 horizontally to house the 12" BGK and 12" clown separately. The reasons for doing this is diverse:

  1. to avoid unnecessary territorial fights in the beginning;
  2. to give clown some personal space to recover from the stress incurred from the long journey home and change of environment;
  3. to get both knives "acquainted";
  4. to observe behavioral patterns of both knives in each other's presence

On the 2nd and 3rd night, the clown was observed to be facing the BGK's side of the tank across and swimming occasionally cruising alongside the barricade.

BGK doesn't "sniff" around the barricade at all.

I haven't observe the feeding patterns of both fishes on live feeders yet.

Conclusion: Still premature to make any at this point

What do you think?
