I have been playing with the idea of adding a second Idol to my tank. So far, one LFS has told me i'm asking for trouble and they will fight badly, another has told me they should be fine as they are a peaceful schooling fish. Does anyone else have an opinion (even better, experience) on this idea???

i suspect they'd fight.
if you want more than one you might need to have a group of maybe 3/4 or more.

there similar to tangs, they should be added at the same time. If you were to acclimate the fish in a clear specimen container hanging inside the tank, you may be able to get away with adding another one. Keep in mind though, that if did that method the container would have to be decent sized for the fish to move around a little.
