..Unfortunatly they are both males :screwy:

11" Jag and 8" Midas have paired up. Triple checked the vents, and yes they are males :/

We all know what kind of devastation a regular pair (m+f) can cause, but two males is just scary..

Tried rearranging the tank, lots of big water changes etc... nope, they are still a pair :screwy:

What can i do, lol

Do you like fish sticks?
Haha! I remember a while back someone did an indoor pond and was showing it off on this site. One of his fish got nasty and he posted pics of it fried up for dinner.

Do they spend a lot of time reaganging the tank and arguing over the color of the subsrate? In this day and age I guess you just have to accept it.

Maybe they won't turn hyper-aggressive since there are no actual eggs or fry to defend?

This has always happened to me with female fish in the past, which usually means eggs get laid, and then they do show all the typical aggression of a mated pair.

LOL, you guys are killing me. I've had the same thing happen with other cichlid species, in my case a few times it ended up with a very hyper dom male that eventually had to be removed.

Good luck!

They have now taken a back corner of the tank, behind a large root, which is good news, since before it was ½ of the tank, lol.

It bugs me, cause this particular tank i've always insisted on not getting a single female, to avoid any and all pairing, so i could keep an impressive display tank of all males without damage.

I guess with all the celibacy it's eventually become like a prison, where you don't bend over to pick up the soap :p
