So i got my first ray a few weeks ago. He seems to be doin well, eating alot and very active. Im goin to be putting him in a larger tank in a couple weeks and was wondering if i should treat him for parasites while hes still in the smaller tank since hes never been treated for anything and hes wild caught. Do all wild caught rays need to be treated or is it only if there are problems? Here are a couple pics.. :)

It's always a good idea to treat him for parasite. Leave him be in the small tank wihtout any addition to reduce the chance of bacteria being introduced by new tankmate.

You should treat him for parasite for about 4-5 weeks to be at almost 100% certain.

If you can keep the tank bare bottom to examine poop/fecal matter to determine is the ray is free of parasite. Poop can tells you a lot of fish's health

Id make sure to treat him just to make sure that beautiful ray doesnt get worse if theres a parasite man im just saying to double check..alright good luck with the ray hope to see more of the stingray

i would do a 2 week treatment of prazipro. this will not affect water params or tankmates
