so, my brother and i have seen this pied grackle around town a few times (once in a seperate town 10 minutes away). it could very well be a few birds, but thats beside the point. i am going to get a license to capture and keep native birds, and then i am going to work my ass off to catch this bird. my question is, how would i go about catching a specific bird? are there any other methods besides a net?

thanks,
Connor

Google falconry and then look at some of the traps they use to catch birds of prey. Most of them use live mice as bait but I'm sure you could adapt one to use something as bait that the grackle would eat.

Why are you going to get a permit to keep native birds? LoL A lot of the birds in the US aren't native...oy!!!

One of those air cannon guns with the big net would be awesome, fun, and effective! :D

i thought about that, but then i will probably catch some normal grackles, which would be a waste of food and bait. thanks though

:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL: no help for those that wont try to help themselves...

I would suck up all the info I could.. If you think of it as wasting materials then this bird is in my opinion... worth more than you have to offer.

Try the falconry route.. they are 1000 times closer to getting what you want than you are.. you'd be surprised what you learn when you ask the a question
the right people vs. shooting Blanks in the dark;)

There is a falconer on here. Maybe he will see your post and have some usable info for ya ;)
