I am just making a post to vent so that I feel better. I am very dissapointed right now. See I have my 94 Accord up for sale $3000 obo. So this guy calls about it along with numerous others. They come and look, and this one guy decided he wants to buy it. Of course he doesnt have all the cash so he pays a little less than half of it and was supposed to pay the rest today. I get a call today from him saying he isnt gonna buy it for some bs reason I didnt fully understand. I think he just didnt want to get it anymore. Anyways I had another guy come 15min after the other guy had decided to put half so we would hold it for him, and this other guy that came late wanted it - I could have sold it to him then but no this guy has to make me think he buy it and then 2days later back out. That makes me mad. Now I am back to square one. I am in the market to get a 98-01 integra gsr (if you dont like the car its your opnion, I like it and it what I want) but I cant buy it untill I sell my car now and its very annoying. Why people gotta do that! I had 2 other offers that came to late and I didnt take them cuse I thought he was buying it and then he doesnt. grrrr. Yes I know patience etc etc. It just annoying. Anywho thanks for letting me ramble sorry if it retarded.

Its not worth the hassle, give the guy his deposite back & start over. Its a Honda, they sell them-selves

I had the same problem when I sold my Acura a few years ago.He paid half and then came back with less then half of the remaining balance thinking I was desperate.I gave him his money back and told him to piss off.That's the bad part of selling a car yourself.But in the end you get more money as opposed to trading it in.Just be patient.
Never accept a down payment that someone knows they can get back.. You tell them Five hundred now that is non refundable to hold have them sign a contract and it's done.. You make five hundred dollars on every PUNK B*I*T*CH that tries to shaft you..Oh and keep the car till they pay the full amount..
I sooooo would have kept whatever amount he gave you as a deposit..(Or at the very least tell him he's getting all but $100.00 of it back for causing you to lose sales thinking you had a buyer.)
Next time as said if they're not paying in full tell them whatever they're paying you that day is a non-refundable deposit(because people have backed out) and write a small receipt on a peice of paper that includes your name/his name, the vin # of what you're selling him as proof of his deposit and proof you're receiving it.
Sucks, just be patient.
