I'm not sure i want to drive everyday to the lfs and get feeders for my P.bass so could i get a bunch and trow them in there and let them eat when they want? I dont have a spare takn for them

i would advise against it.
you should alway let your feeders sit fow a week or two to check for prarasites anyway so keep a twenty on hand. it helps a lot in the long run.

yeah.. i agree. You probably dont want to put in more feeders than your pbasses will eat right away, esp. if you are using feeder goldfishes, as they are coldwater fishes. The feeders tend to be more prone to diease in higher temp (such as what pbasses like), if they dwell in your main tank longer than necessary.

If you dont have a spare tank, you might consider using a big bucket or rubbermaid container to quarantine the feeders. I used a medium sized rubbermaid container with a sponge filter with no problems. Just have to make sure you change the water daily, as the Ammonia will spike fast.

Or - you can train the pbasses to take prepared food. :)

Yep...rubbermaid containers are the shiznit! Get a cheap biowheel filter and you will be straight. Treat it as you would any aquarium. Like was mentioned, don't hoard feeders into the tank with the pbass all kinds of problems can happen from disease to bioload spikes....and the bass could gourge themselves too much. For the baby pbass you have, get guppies and put some plants in there and they will breed like crazy....making more feeders. Thats what I do for my feeders for my lil pbass.

I agree with everyone above. If possibly always quaritine fedders, exp. goldfish. Some of the lfs fedder tanks are gross and their is never a tank that doesn't have at least a handful of floaters. I used a bucket because 50 or 100 fedders is a much better deal than a dozen at a time. Although the bucket gets fouled fast, it's easy to dump out some water everyday and change it with fresh water. I put an airstone and sometimes a filter on it when i got a lot or bigger feeders. Eventually I would suggest you get a 10 or 20 gal. for your feeders. Less trips to the lfs and you can keep tabs on whats going into your main tank.

How about giving your bass with dead food? sometimes i keep some dead or meaty food in refrigerator...then if i have many times...i will give the food for them....of course not in frozen condition hehe..

Ya they are kinda like O's in this aspect they just don't stop :) Not always..
