Hi,

I water change weekly all my tanks. I normally use
NutraFin Cycle Biological Aquarium Supplement

everytime i water change. Adding an amount depending on the size of the tank. Is it really necessary to use the cycle stuff on a mature tank that is full established? Just wondering...

totaly unnessicary, I do 50% changes weekly on all my tanks and even swoosh/squeeze the filter media out in a bucket of old tank water once a month and have never had a mini cycle. Just vac out the junk, add dechlorinator and fill it up.

Right on... Darn stuff is expensive to buy. I guess i've been mini cycling my tanks on a weekly basis. :nilly: oops... Time to save some cash.

50%? You keeping a certain type of fish or just the amount you normally take out? Wondering... I take out about 25-30% a week during water change. Increase?

Thanks for reply...

I just do 50% b/c with good tap water and a python there is no reason not to ues the cheapest, easiest, proven method to raising and keeping BBF's..(beautiful big fishies ). All jokeing aside I used to only do 25/30% weekly b/c buckets are a big PITA but once I got a python I decided 50% a week was sooooo easy why not have the lowest NO3/PO4 readings I could have? Python, worth every penny....monster WC's for Monster fish made easy.
