What unusual signs have you observed in your fish?
White Stringy Poopie In both the GT's and one of the GT's had lost its apatite
Have you treated your fish ahead of diagnosis? If so, what treatments did you use? State your reasons for planning ahead of proper diagnosis.

Unfortunatly one day while I was at work my dad desided it would be cool to feed my fishys some rosies from petco :irked: I was not a happy camper after I found out, and shure enough after a couple days the GT's started to have white poopie....I did a dose of Jungle Clear first because here in the desert all I have is Petco and Petsmart, but on my day off I was able to drive up to the OC and got some Prazi
I treated with Prazi and did the dosage provided by Lupin on here...my GT got her appetite back and they all are acting normal but they still have the white poopie and its been over a month now....

My question is how long are they going to have the white poopie or are they still infected? Should I do another dosage thing?
Thanks for any help!:nilly:

Does the white poop look long and stringy? If it is long and stringy, internal bacterial infection is possibly involved. I wonder if you have access to MediGold in case of internal bacterial infection.

well shoot, yes its long and stringy....is there any other medication I can get to help them? Ive had my GT's for almost 2 years now since they were babys and I dont wana loose them:cry:

As long as the fish remains eating heartily, there is always a chance. Can you mix Kanaplex with the foods you give them? Where are you located? Location is important so I can dig for some resources to get meds from. In the meantime, dose metronidazole with praziquantel together. If you're going to use liquid metro, two teaspoons (125mg) will do it for every 20 gallons but ingestion is the best way so perhaps get Flagyl instead and crush a tablet to be mixed with foods.

ok thanks, I live in SoCal where the closest fish store is 45min away but the best ones are out in the LA, OC area so Im thinking my best bet is to order meds online...i was lucky to find the prazi thanks to Cohazard recomending me to a fish store near him and they happened to have it...I'ma try and get some metro tomorrow from petsmart but Im shure I'll have to order from Big Al's or something :irked: Thanks for the help I dont wana loose my fishys :(

There's MediGold at Goldfishconnection.com.

Many fish meds are diluted or suspensions of other animal medications.

Praziquantel is a common anti-parasitic in veterinary medicine. Metronidazole is sold by pfizer as Flagyl for humans. I don't know if your vet would have access or not.

If you know the dosage thats in what you'd buy online, it might be worth a phone call to your vet and at least ask them.
