a question for the snake people

A diversified diet is always best. Rodents, IMO, should be a staple but it's not bad to throw in the random chick, quail or duckling.

My freezer consists of nothing but rabbits, rats, quail, ducklings and chicks. I don't even have enough room in there for my own food.

What type snakes do you keep?

Always try to feed adult food sources when possible. Fowl of any type is O.K., but should not be used as a staple. Have you ever had to clean up after a snake who's diet consisted of only birds? Not pretty. I'll feed chicken and ducks when they are available in spring, but not always. Adult rodents, rabbits and sometimes to fatten up breeding animals Guinea pigs. Any young feeder animals are like feeding sticks of butter to you reptiles. Lower protein and mineral content, very high fat content.
