So here's what I'm grappling with. I got a 75G to growout my Mbu whom I've had for a good 8 months now. In that time he's grown maybe an inch or two but added a lot of girth. Meanwhile I have an Electric Blue Jack Dempsey in a 40 breeder who has shot up to 5 inches and is quite active. I was thinking that with the Mbu's growth rate (He's about 7 inches now) and the EBJD's activity I might be better served switching tanks on them. By the time the Mbu outgrows the 40 (assuming constant growth rate) I'll be able to buy his bigger tank (hopefully a 300 but barring that, something in the 200 range) and leave the active cichlid to his 75 for life. I could even add a couple more cichlids. Anyone have thoughts on this?
