you can mix them sure but the 3 inch will most likely get bullied to death for best results you should mix 4 or 5 about the same size then you can think about varying sizes without casualties
i have a 12 inch with a 4 inch but have a few others inbetween this size, and mine is fine but then the 4 inch is an NGT but i find the more you have the less problems you get but then saying that sometimes my silver goes on a rampage and chases everything.
