I was on vacation for a week in Florida and had a relative take care of my fish. ( she has done this before)
I had 17 Discus in a 75 gal show tank.
somehow the heater became unplugged, and on the 4th day she called and said 2 of them were on the bottom flapping their fins.
The next day they were all dead.
I'm seriously bummed there were a couple that were 6 years old.

gets on my nerves man! how hard can it be to feed fish?!
everything else just needs to be left alone.
might you board them at the lfs next time?
(might be just as bad)
... sorry btw!

At least my 19" Jardini and 18" RTC were both OK.
I am setting up new 29 gal tanks and will be starting over with new discus next week.
I like to raise them myself rather than buy adults.

I usually have 2 heaters in the tanks in case one fails.
My luck, The big red tailed catfish DESTROYED one a while back, and instaead of BUYING one, I used one out of the Discus tank for him without replacing it.
Hmmmmm... that wound up costing me about $1500.00

Thats terrible, sorry for your losses

Thanks, etling44.
I'll miss them.
I am starting over with all new discus, though.
Red Rose
