I asked about it so many times, these damn worms on my ropefish. but everybody said planaria are harmless. well i hate to break to u all, but planaria are harmless in the water, not on the fish. Once the planaria have found a way to attatch to the fish they start replroducing till ur fish has them everywhere.
I guess they got into his gills or sumthin cuz my roommate just called me n told me that Mr Snake (as she calls it) is dead :(

now who can tell me how to get ankored worms off my fish?
cuz ive seen one or two on my polys aswell...

wow i'm sorry for your loss. Maybe it isn't planaria. I don't think i've heard of planaria killing a fish

Go to your lfs and tell them your fish have flukes and ask what medication they have to eliminate them -Anne

this would be so much easier if we all had acess to the same meds

BtW you were told 10 days ago what the worms were (flukes) not planaria
and what to do about it -Anne

planaria worms on my ropefish

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ive noticed my rope fish is COVERED in little white worms. Im pretty sure they are planaria. at first i thought they would just fall off with some parasitic treatment but they keep reproducing... like hes got them all over his head n body now. I know they are supposed to be harmless but this is looking quite dangerous. how to i get them off him?

Fluke-Tabs should remove all the infestation but, can be harsh on weakened fish.
Cupramine will kill off all inverts in the tank. This product remains in solution so, once the worms are gone, a carbon insert in the filter will remove it.

yea i noticed that reply after you said it, I thought that thread had died a long time ago, I kinda stopped checking it... :S
well its my dumbass fault...
we learn from our mistakes...
