Rockin down the Highway USA
so my smallmouth bass had been fighting parasites for about a week or so and had developed some sort of fungus yesterday...so i went to my lfs and bought some parasite and fungus killer....then when i came home from work tonight i go down to my tank and find him dead on the rocks...he was about 8 in. long....to say the least im bummed out right now:cry:

harsh losing the smb. RIP

Im guessing its from the feeder goldfish, there never great things to give to your fish. At least now you can get that pbass you've been wanting!

Ah, that sucks. Sorry to hear that.

sorry for the loss but its not really the feeder goldfish fault. u the one feeding them.
if u juz do the extra work that need to be done on feeders namely "quarantining" them...
less, u wudve got no problem feeding them. live fish are good source of protein and calcium,
cant take that out of any preadtors diet. jus have to do our homeworks bro. we feed our fish.

If i have to use feeders for something stubborn or a specialized piscivore i get fat head minnows from the bait shop. They dont do well for more than a few minutes when going from 60 degree water to 80 but they get a helluva feeding response in their shocked state and i've never had disease problem.

That and the bait shop gives me tons of frozen minnows for free to feed my snapping turtle :D.
