Combined most of the growouts on Tuesday. Still have a few runts that have to catch up but most are in there. It's only been 5 days but so far there hasn't been a nipped fin (knock on wood). First attempt to add Dorado to the 300 lasted less then an hour. Cynos attacked the smallest Dorado. Next attempt I added the Dorado to the Armatus's growout tank and within 2 hours it was clear the Armatus weren't having it, the Dorados were damaged enough they needed to be pulled out. Can't believe it's actually working now. :nilly: Just added them all to an unfamiliar tank at the same time. Haven't really got thier appetites back yet, I'm sure it will be real interesting when they do. Really hope it continues to work. :)

Tank is 8x2.5x2.

Sweet setup/combo. I'm still longing to get a dorado in my setup.....
Got Azuls, Armatus, Orinos and now I need a dorado to complete my predator tank.....

love the combo!! hopefully the armatus dont get too ticked w all the silver fish swimmin above them...

i just got the same size tank but mine is 20" tall :D

We all know Armatus are very impressive fish but they don't tend to be too active, so how do you make the tank more appealing? Movement. I see your Armatus shoal, and raise you 1 bucket of Dorado.

I catch the Armatus leading the Dorado shoal every once in a while. They are much more active now then when they were by themselves in thier growout.

All fish in this tank have been completely off feeders for months now.

Wow that looks awesome! How many inches are the armatus and what's the two larger greenish ones near the top in the first photo?

Looks sweet DB. Love that combination with the rays.

Awesome! Love the substrate. I have the same substrate setup in one of my tanks but on a much smaller scale.

I'm praying they don't. They can sink thier fangs into the Aro, Odoe, or Dorado and it won't be the end of the world. They can all be replaced. The problem is the Cynos. To my knowledge I haven't been able to track down anybody besides G that has ever imported them, and I think G only got 8. How ironic they came in by accident when trying to import Armatus. Really wish someone would bring in more, way too neat of a fish to not be enjoyed by the masses.
Hopefully this ticking timebomb doesn't do anything more then tick.
But you have to admit it was inevetable. Someone had to try it and see if it could work longterm. I really didn't plan on keeping the Dorado longterm, but once you have some and get to know thier personalities and non stop swimming it's impossible to let them go. :) Hope I don't ever have to pick one or the other (Dorado/Armatus) :(

Armatus average around 7 inches or so.

The 2 are a species of Cynopotomus. Not sure which species, there's very little info available on them.
