A 180 g South American cichlid biotope, featuring four Mesonauta insignis (one pair guarding young), six Acarichthys heckleii, five Uaru sp. Orange, Geophagus pindare ,abalios, sp. Redhead Tapajos, Satanoperca leucosticta, and Guianacara geayi.

Awesome tank and fish. I wanted a sa biotope a while back but never got around to putting in the finishing touches.

That's a lot of fish in there!!

You're right ... but so far, it's working out just fine. Several pairs have been spawning which is a good sign. I'm keeping a careful watch on things and if I sense a problem arising from the numbers of fish present, I will "thin things out".
 
@30sec are those Heckelli? Mine are even 1/3 of as nice as those.

Yes, they're heckelii.

The festivums will still breed like a clock when it's really crowded. Any signs from the heckelii?

Thanks Matt. The heckelii do display to one another, but I haven't got the tank set up to accomodate their spawning requirements.
