Ok, I was aquarium browsing today at a lfs when I came accross a tank with it's lights off in the back of the store full of about 12 Freshwater Stonefish and 2 huge 18"+ Silver Arowanas, and a skinny 8" Poly trying to hide in the corner. Any one of the stonefish or arowana's could have easily swallowed it whole. So I run back to the front of the store, and ask the clerk what kind of poly it was. He didn't even know what a polypterus or bichir was, so I had to take him to the back and point it out, and ask if he can turn the lights on so I can see. Supposedly the lights didn't work, but I can tell it was a lower jaw species. So I ask him how much he want's for it, and he replies $20, and that someone had brung it in the other day. So anyways I agree to buy the poor bichir with my last $20 I was saving for gas, and it turned out to be a very nice little Lapradei
. So my point is I got rescue an incredible fish that was most likely going to die, and get a great deal on a fish I have been wanting. Sorry for the boring story. Just a little stoked
.
Here's a pic. I couldn't get a good shot because it kept on moving. And it hasn't settled in so it's colors are kind of washed out. Thanks for looking

With such a great owner I'm sure he'll be nice and plump in no time.
