Hi guys, pretty bored in work; wanted to find out what you'd stock in the tank below, dimensions:

54 inch height
14 inch width
16 inch height
52 gallons

Always interested in exploring different ideas, tank is being moved soon; so a bit of a blank slate :)

Personally I would stock with assortment of tetra's, cory catfish, and possibly a group of dwarf cichlids from SA:).

That light looks crazy, care to share the details of it? I'm going to assume plant friendly is required on this one. I'll assume upgrades aren't feasible for at least a number of years. With all of this in mind I'll throw a suggestion that I'd personally like to try some day, so I can live vicariously through you until then. I would suggest qting some livebearers and treating them for any diseases that could be a problem, and then dumping them in for a couple weeks. After you seem that their are too many I would throw in a few pairs of dwarf pikes, crenicichla, in and appreciate the experience. Not sure if this is possible without compromising there desire to eat pellets, but they will run out of feeders eventually. When that happens I'd add one of the bigger tetra, probably black skirts or whatever is available. That said, I'm certainly not an expert in the like world so I would consult one of the like experts. There's a fair number of these guys here, I would page them if I wasn't on mobile.

It's an aquael clip on light, it's fantastic; I highly recommend, can see from the attached pic.

Do exodons not eat cories? I thought they were mini piranha.
My Exodons army won't touch or kill loach, corycat, octocinlus, plecos species but will devour species has scale on them like small african cichlid, tetras, barbs...basicly any scaleless species and big enough for them to eat will be safe, small and has scale = live vending machine for exodons.

Ive always wanted to do an oddball African community. Start with the top dweller an African Butterfly fish. Mid level would be either Congo tetras or African red eye tetras. Bottom level would be a upper jaw bichir or two. Maybe a delhezi or sen. You could also have some different variables in there, like an African knife fish, a smaller syno cat, an African leaf fish. You could do a pretty interesting mix and match there.
