Hey all, I got my 125 up and running finally, with some amazing ribbonwood, trouble is the wood brought a really nasty mold infestation into the tank.

I bleached the wood overnight and gave it another day to soak and dechlorinate in clean water, put it back in the tank and 8 hours later the mold is back on the wood full force, so I've concluded that the mold has infected the water, substrate, and filter media.

The wood is not rotting, it's solid and hard.

I've positively id'd the issue as water mold, my question is what people have used to clear up infestations like this.

MadBob, the molds themselves may eventually go away on their own. How long has this issue been ongoing?

Besides, some Corys or Ancistrus enjoy it

just take it out and scrub it off.. unless you are wrong about the type of wood it is the mold issue will stop on its own...

some time passed and it did go away on its own, I think I just got spooked by the sheer volume of mucousy slime that showed up as quickly as it did.
