Is there any kind of fish I could keep with a Green Terror in a 75 gallon aquarium? I was thinking about a fish that would probably stay out of the GT's way, such as a bichir or a Chaca catfish? Is that a good idea? Does anyone have any better ideas?

I keep mine with loaches and a school of albino tiger barbs, I don't think you'll have any issues with a bichir I just don't know enough about bichir to recommend one for a 75g. I have had a breeding pair in a 75g before as well.

What size is the GT. Also if he has been in the tank by himself and has claimed it you may not be able to add anything.

I haven't bought the fish yet-I have an empty 55 and I want to sell it fot a 75. I was thinking about that issue, and I decided that, if I decided on a non-cichlid tankmate, I would put it in the tank before the GT. That way, the GT would be more likely to accept the tankmate, and that's why I'm planning to get a bichir or Chaca catfish or something-they're interesting fish, and if I'm not mistaken, they're quieter and less likely to be noticed and beaten up by the GT than, say, a Pictus cat or something more active and colorful. Does that make sense?

in a 75 you should not have problems with non cichlid tankmates... Buy the gt small and add it last....

Well, if you're going to get a GT when they're still small and unsexable (I prefer this way as it's really fun to see them grow) then I'd get 2-3 and put them in the 75g. Then you can pick the best looking fish and either sell/give away the left over one :D Just know that GTs can go through an awkward stage/ugly stage when younger when they will have very little color and will look rather drab.

--Edit--

Wanted to add, if you start out with 2 and they end up being 1 male and 1 female pair, you may not want to get rid of the female as they have their own beauty. My female has darker green scales and the heavy coloring on her gill plate is almost blue in color with the flash orange fins. I lost her male this spring and I'm growing out another male who will hopefully pair up with her. However right now she has no interest in him (she's 4.5" he's 2.5").
