So I bought two female convicts to give my male a choice of which he liked, they where both nice looking. He picked one immediately then he and his new mate decided to beat on the odd female. So I took her out and tossed her in my 90 as a feeder. My Texas mutt chased it and tried to eat her for about 5-10 min then I lost track of her. Couple of days later. See her dart of a cave during a water change. She seems to have found hiding places within the tank that the larger fish won't fit into. The main ones who tried to eat her now ignore her even though she's bite sized.

Anybody else have a feeder that survived to establish itself within the tank? If you what was it and feel free to share stories and pictures
Here's some of the convict in question

Haha same thing happened with a small male convict that I threw into my predator tank. Let's just say he's one of the meanest fish in the tank and he even tries to bully my big oscar or jack Dempsey at times. He's gotta be nearing full size after a year now and he even has a little hump on his head, I have a female growing out for him too.

A convict will whoop an oscar any day haha.

I'm happy she survived though mike. Convicts are so cool.

Had some guppies in my tank with my EBJD left over from cycling. He was cool with them for a few months until one day he decided to chomp both in half.

A friend of mine scraped his tank and gave me all his fish. nine inch maybe inch and a half fish went in with 10.5 and 11 inch oscars. 6 months later I still have a female convict and an emerald cory.

I used to have a school of about 10 giant danios in with my big cichlids. Once my Jag realized they were bite sized, she ate all but one of them. Its been months and that one danio is still swimming around the tank happy as can be.

My texasXjag had a female salvini added to his tank, she hid for 2 weeks.then he left her alone.that lasted a year.now he has a female carpintis, when she 1st went into the tank she could easily have been eaten, now she is 5 inchesuploadfromtaptalk1408189323547.jpg
