A tick got me...

I don't know about you guys but in Japan they tell many horrific stories about what infections you can get when a tick did bite you. Well... i was hiking with friends yesterday and now found such a disgusting small thing behind me knee...

I removed it with the head but i'm kinda scared now. There is no red ring around it and i feel normal...but i browsed the internet and well...you can read some spooky **** about that there. On the other hand i don't want go to a doctor without symptoms just because a tick did bite me. -.-.

I would go to the doctors as a precaution. Lymes disease is best treated when caught early. A simple blood test can see it. If you're do for your annual physical check up, do it all at once.

I know people in the country that get them a couple times a week, especially if they have tall grass. I wouldn't worry about it. People get ticks all the time. I would be more worried about a mosquito.

and the red ring from lyme can show up anywhere on your body... not just around the bite

i pull tens of ticks off myself every year though and never get lyme. where are you from and how big was the tick? the main lyme ticks are TINY, where im from anyway

My mom has had late stage Lyme for the past 11 years and my sister has had it for the past 8 years... All I can say is that's it's defenitly not something to be ignored, go get yourself checked by a doctor.

I had red ring on my stomach (bite was in the center of ring)..i got quite strong antibiotics for a month,one tablet every 12 hours.. So definetely dont ignore it and visit a doctor to check it out..

I was hiking on Moriyoshi next to lake Biwa. The tick was small...at least considerable smaller than the ones i usually pull out of our cat and dog...It was also different color, kinda red. And it was relative flat. And to be honest it looked dead. It did not move at all. My guess is that it was a tick which is specialized on some animals? But idk. I got it off completly with its head, which is good. No sign of red around the bite so far. I´ll go to doctor friday just to be sure. I never had a tick before...that things are so disgusting!
