I wanted to make a video for anyone considering a lungfish. In my case a West African Lungfish (Protopterus Annectens). These are awesome fish, but require a lot of maintainace and dedication. My video shows just how fast my pristine aquarium becomes a mucus filled, horror scene. I wouldn't have it any other way! I typically spend an hour to an hour and forty five minutes every evening feeding and maintaining my young WAL. They are a very rewarding fish to keep, if you can spend the time on them that they need. They beg like a dog when hungry, and actively recognized the person who feeds them when they walk in the room. Just be aware of the damage they can do if they were to bite you. Treat them with respect, and you will have a great bond. Thanks guys. I hope this helps someone decide if this is the fish for them.

IMO that mess is more so from the worms... try switching him onto cut fish or pellets.. They are actually fairly good sand sifters and will clean up any leftover food. Great work with him hand feeding! I was expecting a video of a fish being sliced in half or cookie cuttered as a warning...or a dog sized turd lol... Anyway, pellets will offer ur boy better nutrition/less mess than the worms and ive never had a lung refuse them. Size doesn't really matter as theyll make a mucus ball around a pile of them and slurp on down.

He eats pellets from flymeat.com. They are a great source of protein. Fish is also a part of his diet. Nothing makes mine grow like earthworms though. I feed him like the monster he his. Worms are a good staple imo. The mess is way worth the reward, I promise.
