Could pond technology be used on a BiG TanK for OscaRs? I am thinking of getting a 8'x4'x4' aquarium for OscaRs. In view of their MessY feeding hablts I'd like to use a VorteX settler in the first stage of filtration. But nobody I've spoken to in the hobby has heard of this being done. One of the problems, would be drilling a 4" hole in the bottom of the tank, to feed the wide bore pipe work used in gravity-fed mode.
