Hi, just thought id share some information about carpinite texas cichlids.
i bought them at about an 3/4 to and inch long they were fine in my general community tank for 3 months and grew to 2 inches or so. ( the reason they are in the general communtiy is because they were too small for the cichlid tank)
everything went well until on of the texas dissappered..
i found it hiding in a corner the smaller texas was beating it up badly. so i moved the aggressive texas to the cichlid tank and hes holding his own against convicts , pearsii and a unidentified vieja. that are much bigger than he is.
After i moved the texas the other fish seem really happy and the injured texas is swimming about more and eating again.
I was shocked how agressive a tiny little fish could be!!!! im going to give them a 100 gallon of there own next year..
i know that texas are regarded as aggressive but i didnt expect it when they were so small
anyone else find texas slow growing??
