aba aba knife fish... tail bitten off.

I sold some fish out of my tank and just left my Aba Aba and Black wolf fish. Well it seems to upset the harmony and the black wolf bit about 2 inches off my aba's tail. Will it heal and grow back. I just added some salt.

I would think it would grow back, maybe turn up the temperature in the tank.

if just the fleshy part was bitten it will grow back, if some of the spine has been removed as well it may not

If the spine runs all the way to the tip then he got about 2" taken off.

it looks like some of the bone has been taken off there - dont think its going to grow back perfectly. might be a little odd looking.....

just like BGK's they can regenerate a good portion of the tail bone and all

It will grow back even if the bones were cut off. Mine was even worst than before when one of my bichirs accidentally mistook it as a food and grab and hold of the aba aba's tail and spin and cut it off. It grew back to normal.
