Aba Aba knife What is the growthrate???

I came across some that are still very small. I wondered how fast they grow?
Also, they are eating blackworms and brineshrimp right now.
Would they be able to take nightcrawler pieces, cut up very small? Or any other food, that is easier to access than blackworms and brineshrimp?

These guys get huge and I'm assuming the bigger your tank the more room he will have to grow and how well he eats and what you feed him. Its one of the largest in the knife family.

I've never kept one but have considered it several times. TFD has them in stock often. I would guess they grow very fast and aren't very picky eaters. You might want to talk to Dirty Evo on ww. He has had more than one.

They grow fast till they hit 20"-25". Mine is at 27" now and still growing got it at 18" and it only took it it 6 months to get to that size.

They are only a inch long. Maybe a hair bigger.

Would they eat frozen brine shrimp or blood worms. Live is just hard for me, cause I have to drive so far to get it.

Mine is 14 years old and about 36".

He grew up to 20" pretty quick and has grown very slow from then to now (maybe 10 years).

They are only a inch long. Maybe a hair bigger.

I sure hope these fish are over an inch long because that would be extremely small for aba aba knives. As long as the worm can fit in their mouth then they shouldn't have a problem eating them. Aba abas have really sharp teeth so most foods won't be a problem. They will also take frozen foods as well and you can train them to take pellets.

I got mine in July at 8" and he is now 18".
