Aba Aba Knife

yesterday ran to the lfs to get a new batch of feeders. And found one of these lil' gems, I've heard they can be abit tough. and the lfs warned me about this, But what exactly do I need to watch this lil' guy for?... he's about 4" and atm w/ a 3" TSN and a 6" silver arrowana. The TSN and Arrow will be moved shortly. but atm they are all sharing my QT tank. My fiance's been wanting a knife.. and I couldn't resist getting this guy, as I've never seen them around here before.

I know they get big, and aggressive. But is their anything else I've missed in my research? or any tips for raising my lil' guy?

Just what to watch-out for in such a small juvi. any tips for acclimating it and getting it to eat? they seem to be aggressive eaters. but I haven't seen my new guy eat yet. and I guess this is the biggest issue w/ them at such a small age?

lol dare I ask where in WI you got your guy from?.. the LFS I got my guy from accidentally ordered 2 for someone... and he was a great lil' find

im jealous of both of you but its okay,in the meantime,ill be enjoying my new tank and more aro,gar,knife,bichir,but someday ill find a small aba aba! and OP you should post pictures!

YEP! rofl... We got the other one! I managed to get some very small feeder guppies to try, though the cat and arrow seem to have picked off a fair amount already >.<! I'm gonna try frozen bloodworms as well, and if that fails there is a shop in Fond Du lac that has live black worms.

I'll have the fiance get his camera out.. he's so small I don't think he'll show on the camera phone.

lol, you got lucky. I'm hoping to order a Reticulated Knife from them, so you may want to stop in if they get them in and see if there are any extra if you're interested, lol.
Couldn't get him to eat bloodworms this morning, will have to try again tonight.
