Recently I moved my Aba aba out of a spare bedroom to the living room. I watch it a lot more. I think this fish has more personality than a lot of fish! Its totally redecorated its tank! Moving sand and drift wood to the front of the tank. Just today I noticed a white PVC plug pulled out of my drain bulkhead. This was buried under 4" of sand at one point and stuck into the bulkhead to keep the sand out. I made it removable to drain the tank for what ever reason but I didn't want to fill the drain pipe with sand all the way to the valve. In the pic you can see the Aba aba playing with the PVC. It's just hard to believe! What a goof ball!

nice tank, fish and background, maybe he wants the tank to be decorated in his way :)

The way the sand is piled up, it reminds me of a kid building a fortress out of boxes, lol!

Abas are without a doubt some of the coolest, most unique fish out there. Definitely on my Top 10 list.

He looks like he is haveing fun! lol mine will often redecorate too. and I agree 100% the bigger they get the more personality they show. deffinatey one smart fish too! how big is he now? what size is his tank?

I would guess the fish is about 16" or so. Its in a 180 gallon with a 55 gallon sump. Seems to be super happy there. Of course im planning a larger tank some day. Fun fish. Im glad I got it out in the living room now.

He looks great. Mine re-arranges the tank every night. I think that due to thier very large brain, they get bored. I keep lava rocks for feeders and convicts to hide in. This seems to keep him entertained, especially when there are convict fry in the tank.
