aba aba tank mates

i have a 240 gallon tank 8'x2'x2' with 1 8 inch silver aro, 1 8 inch florida gar, 1 5 inch flagtail, 1 8inch lima shovelnose cat, 3 bichirs 4-8 inches. i want to get some new tankmates but i dont know what to get. was thinking about getting an aba aba, my lfs has one 2", would it survive in my tank and how fast does it grow. will it be agressive at all?

I wouldn't put an aba aba that's only 2" in with your fish, it will just become food for who ever catches it first. I think only the flagtail wouldn't try to eat it.

If it last in that tank it would prove to be an apex predator.

aba aba would prob kill everything in that tank and outgrow the tank,but some have successfully community aba aba with other big predators like aro,bichir,gar,knifes,lungs,snakeheads etc

ok so what if i grew it out in a tank till its about 4-5 inches? how long would it take it to grow

Yea, it's just not the best idea... you can try, lol, but the risk is up to you.

It's not worth it. Aba Aba needs a dedicated large tank. Go with a clown knife, you will like them! Cool fish!
