Looked all over, can’t find any newer info, or really any steady info about babies. I might get a 3-3.5” baby and would love some info. How hard is it to care for when young, best foods, etc. thank you :)

The young feed on crustaceans and insects, moving on to fish as they become adults in nature, they get 5-6ft long, so 300 gallon tank would be bare minimum.
And they usually need to be kept alone, as they will eat and shred any fish put in the same tank

300?

If they get 5-6 feet how would a 300 be minimum? Isn’t a 300 only like 8*3?

If you plan to keep it lifelong then 500g plus. It’ll grow fast so something to think about when getting a grow out tank.

They constantly check out other fish and nip and bite at them..I can only imagine it would get worse as they get big enough to bite chunks..I just got rid of one that was 18 inches.. unfortunately I would agree it needs to stay in it's own tank..very curious fish

Sometimes I get the urge to dedicate my 450 to 1, I wouldn't have to feed it for a while

Lol yeah I have a few grow outs for it. I’m just not sure if I wanna do a pond in the basement, a pool, or a DIY plywood with glass window or just order a fiberglass pentair 720g
