I have 4 Geo. abalios that I'm thinking are 2 males and 2 females. I don't have any recent pictures, but I'm guessing that long fin trailers are a decent indication of males?
Nope. Geophagus Abalios are isomorphic. That means there are not many if any visual signs to look for. I have both male and females with long filaments. Behavior is a good indicator during the courting/spawning process if your loucky enough to catch it. Venting is your best bet. GL
