So my brown knife has recently been rubbing/ "flashing" against plants and other objects in the tank. He has no white spots and none of the other fish in the tank are doing this. I am monitoring him closely but does anybody know if brown knives or other fish for that matter just randomly do this sometimes without having an ich type infection? I treat the water with PRIME when i do WC's (approx 10% twice a week) so the slime coat shouldn't be an issue.

Maybe in the stage where no salt-like symptoms show
I am from a koi pool and freshwater tanks background but only ever seen fish flash/scrape when a dose of ICH is around :-(
Maybe someone with better brown knife knowledge will come along and have an indepth reply

appreciate it ive got the temp up at 82 hoping if theres anything there it will show up a bit quicker, dont wanna put it up any higher than that otherwise and cause discomfort - i may dose the tank with a bit of aquarium salt to be safe and maybe if it's in a very week state it will destroy it before it starts - doubt the salt would hurt anything if there isn't any ick
