How much would it be to build a 100g tank (including glass/acrylic, sealant, and everything else I would need) i have no idea what the dimensions would be for the tank but i want it to be more on the long side about 4'-5' long. I have very limited knowledge of building tanks, so as much advice you could give me would be amazing. I think there is special aquarium sealant right? What would the preferred brand be? I intend to make this a freshwater tank eventually for my Red Belly Piranhas because as much as I love the three that I have I really would like a larger shoal and the 55g they are in now will eventually get a little cramped. So in the long run would this be worth it and cheaper than going out and buying a tank?

I already looked on craigslist for tanks in my area, they are either over priced, leaking, or too far for me to drive to get ):

I am building a 240 plywood. I could have gotten cheaper maybe store bought. I have put into it around $600 incl stand and filter.

In most cases, DIY tanks do not become cost effective until you cross the 300+ gallon mark.

To answer your question, sort of, there is no set price. It can all vary based on your location, skill level, tools available and products used.

Since you're a juggalette, I'm assuming the only tool you own is a hatchet. By the time you buy other tools you need, and materials, you will not save money building a tank of that size. Also, since you have limited DIY experience, the probability is high that you will make mistakes and have to rework them, raising the cost even higher. I'm from michigan too, and used 125's pop up on c-list all the time. Just gotta keep your eyes open for deals.
