Ok i have seen recommendations about lighting wattage based on take capacity ie...gallons. My question is on custom deep tanks and light absorption with water depth. Is their a general equation for satisfactory lighting at a depth of 3 to 4 ft? I am in process of building a 1000 gallon tank.

that is a GREAT ?..... the answer can be both YES and NO...what are u doing with that TANK
if U go swimming and dive down let say 4ft and you open ur eyes how much light can u see

Aside from my current tank inhabitatnts I'd like to get a small shark. I realize they are difficult to keep and grow large, but my snapper will get large as well.....Currently undecided as to additional tank mates...dont want to overpopulate or choose poor tank mates for the agressive fish i already have
